At our personal training studio on Battersea Park Road we are now providing a functional movement screen (fms) assessment for all new clients – we also offer it as a stand alone service if anyone would like to book an appointment.

The functional movement screen consists of 7 tests which gives us an accurate way to document and mark your progress. It lets us know the current fitness level of your body performing movements that you should easily be able to do every day. Watch the video as Dave demonstrates the hurdle step test, which is a simple step that should be easy to do but actually gets a little difficult if you are unfit and/or sustained an injury. If you find these movements difficult or if you are not able to do them at all we will be able to measure that and then focus your personal training around mobility and/or stability exercises that will help you build strengthen in your weaker areas.

The more you workout and use the exercises we provide to strengthen those areas the stronger you become and that will be reflected in your next assessment. That way, you as a client can also see how much progress you have made.
